depends on where you live

I agree, depends on where you live. Atlanta and the rest of the State are two different places. Atl and the suburbs have a very diverse mix. To try to answer your question, a true native from anywhere outside of Atlanta is probably going to give you the shirt off his back. Some of the nicest people in the world are in south Georgia. The same is true for Augusta, Macon, and Savannah, although they can be a bit clicky. Unfortunately, the smaller cities are still very racial. Black and white are still suspicious of one another for the majority of the State. But it is much more obvious in towns like Albany, Sylvester, Waycross, etc. That said, I love Georgia and could never see myself anywhere else.

well first off Georgia is LARGELY just WHITE AND BLACK..except for a few of Atlanta suburbs You have all kinds of different people in GA...you non-atlanta georgia adult is usually a hard working blue collar type...black or white.....in my experience...the whites are the EXTREME in one way or the other...they are either REALLY RACIST or REALLY NICE...the blacks ok except the young adult and teen blacks are just like they are in larger urban areas....no respect, full of chaos, etc. Overall decent nice people though in ATL you can FIND ANYTHING though, as it is a world class gamma city sha lyn....most of that is right accept about the hispanics. Most of GA's hispanics are in suburban ATL areas like certain cities Gwinnett and Dekalb Counties. I'm from Middle GA..there arent many hispanics. Cat....almost all white?????? Georgia is 30% black....which is the 3rd highest % of blacks of any state.....only Louisiana and Mississippihave higher percentage....and Georgia has the 4th most black in total population..behind New York, Florida and Texas...lol where do you get "almost all white" from.....this aint UTAH

All types of races, religions, etc live in GA. In the very rural areas you will find less diversity and will normally find most of the population to be either white or African American protestant Christians. However because of the job market, military, and colleges in GA there are many people from all over the world in the cities and larger towns. The largest growing "new" minority is probably hispanic. South and central GA has a high population of Mexican and central American farm laborers and that population has began to spill over into the north GA area due to the construction boom over the last decade.

Depends on where you're at! There is a whole lot of "white flight" Christian Republicans dwelling north of the city. The further out into the country you get in any directions than you'll find the same type of people. I strongly disagree with the person that said you'd be hardpressed to find a liberal if you were in Atlanta. Both Atlanta and Athens consistantly prove themselves to be "blue" cities in presidential elections. McCain signs were a definite minority and were virtually non-existant in the wealthy neighborhoods surrounding the Midtown area. However, Atlanta is one of the neatest most diverse U.S. cities I've been in (I've been in all of the biggies). If anything, Atlanta has a culture of accepting ethnic and racial diversity versus assimilation. The population demographics usually sit a little bit less than 60/40--approximately 55% are black and 38% are white. There is also a significant, and very well-accepted, homosexual population residing in Atlanta. I will elaborate more on this later.

it depends on what part of Georgia you move to. The closer to Atlanta, the more crowded, black and crime prone. We are about to move to Toccoa (northeast Georgia mtns) and I cant wait. It is so laid back. everyone is overly nice and takes the time to help you. it is about 96% white. the schools are wonderful and there is no crime. good luck! i am from Pike county originally (about 1 hour below Atlanta). it is very laid back also. schools are very good and probably 96% white also. but if you go up one county to Spalding, it is different- more blacks, mexicans and some of the schools are horrible, but the one my kids go to is one of the best in Georgia. it is also more crowded. hope this helped a little. it all depends on what part you move to really.

man some of these people are spitting you some straight wrong info. The cat character is wrong, Georgia has the 3rd highest percentile and 4th highest total population of blacks. I don't know how thats "almost all white" Also, someone said "the closer to atlanta, the blacker" this is a common...but WRONG assumption of Georgia, yes,,the Atlanta area of Fulton County, Clayton County and Dekalb County are majority black...but outside of those areas...NORTH GEORGIA is largely white you wont find many blacks in those north georgia mountain towns..... The counties and cities of Central and South Georgia have a higher percentage of blacks than North Georgia (aside from Atlanta) Macon, Savannah, Albany are 60+ percent black....Augusta is 50+ percent black..and Columbus is in the higher 40s percentile....and so is alot of the rural counties that surround those urban areas (like Randolph County, Clay County, Mitchell County, Baker County, Wilkinson County, Twiggs County, Early County,Terrell County, Dooly County, Peach County, Taylor County, Talbot County, Hancock County, Baldwin County..I can go on for days......tons of blacks in rural GA) I mean just look at this racial map of Georgia www.blackdemographics.com Georgia has the most "majority black towns/cities" of any state....well over 100 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._communities_with_African_American_majority_populations#Georgia

anything and everything. I know alot of Koreans, Indians, African Americans, White. On one comment it said that Ga is very christian. Yes and No at the same time. Yes there is like a church on every corner, but then again there are also a liquar store on every corner also. So its more like ppl say they go to so n so church but is at the liquar store instead. I love it here tho. Ive lived in the Southern most part of Ga and the eastern most part. and very nice weather wherever you go and also for most part very nice people.
