Personally I love Augusta, GA! And what a wonderful time of the year it is for us as Augusta is home of the Masters Tournament! Can you say Tiger Woods ya'll? We are the second largest city in Georgia and situated on the Savannah River at the border of GA and SC. We are centrally located about two hours from Atlanta and Columbia so what we dont have is only a weekend retreat away. How's the weather you ask? Well today, April 5, 2009 was sunny with a high of about 75, which is normal for this time of the year. We have mild winters with lows usually in the 30s and hot summers ranging in the 90s and yes sometimes 100 when you count the heat index. You didnt say what you do for a living but we have a great mixture of medicine, biotechnology, and military. With major employers such as The Medical College of Georgia, Savannah River Site (a Department of Energy nuclear facility) and the U.S. Army Signal Center at Fort Gordon you CAN find a job. We also have many headquarters or distribution centers in Augusta include Electrolux, CareSouth, T-Mobile (thats where I work yaaaay me), Automatic Data Processing, International Paper, NutraSweet, Teleperformance, E-Z-GO, Club Car, John Deere, Procter & Gamble, and Kellogg's. Check us out www.augustaga.gov. Hope this helps.

I live about 45 minutes away from Savannah which is a very nice place to live in Georgia but is about 4 hours away from Atlanta. The city is really cultured and has a lot to do for everyone...not to mention how BEAUTIFUL it is. Plus, you're like 30 minutes away from the closest beach which is great for kids. Great places to go out both with family or just a night out. I definitely recommend looking into it. However, where I am originally from is Newnan...which is about 30-45 minutes southwest of Atlanta. It used to be pretty small but has been booming since I left for college. There is plenty of shopping, dining, schools, etc. It's got the smaller town charm with its downtown and historic houses from the Civil War (which is another plus in Savannah as well as Newnan - there are some beautiful houses) but it's also got a lot of shopping as of recently and has grown a lot. Plus, you're really close to Atlanta but not directly in Atlanta. It's also not as expensive as the places on the north side of Atlanta (Buckhead, Roswell, etc) but just as nice. I went to some of elementary and all of middle and high school there and I'd say the school system is definitely a pretty good one. I wouldn't call Newnan a city...but definitely not a small town. I'll admit I hated living there when I was younger but now that it's grown more and I've realized the charm of the place...I would totally find it a great place to live after college if only I didn't want to return to my hometown on the basis that it's my hometown. Just givin' ya two places to check out. Peachtree City is also pretty nice.

Ok. Norcross is pretty good but not as good as Cobb County. (It's nicknamed "Snob County" that has to says something) Kennesaw, Acworth, Marietta, and almost any city NW suburbs is nice. Especially Kennesaw.

i live in douglasville, ga. it is located right off of 1-20 and about 30 minutes from downtown atlanta. it still has that small town feel but the population and things to do here are quickly growing. the schools here are very nice, not too over populated. the people here are also very friendly and the neighborhoods are fairly quiet depending on how far away from downtown douglasville you want to live.

Douglasville is cheaper and safe. I have grown up there and I like it. Good driving distance to the city as well as country atmosphere. Very good balance of everything. Suwanee is the same but more expensive
