I'm 16 and live in Georgia and haven't gotten my permit, do I only need one for 6 months or a year

I'm 16 and live in Georgia and haven't gotten my permit, do I only need one for 6 months or a year?
I've been lazy about getting my permit but I'm 16 and am about to get one. I know when you're 15 and get a permit you need to obtain it for one year and one day before you can have a class d license, but is it the same when you're sixteen? Do you think if after 6 months I could tell the DMV I need a license so I can drive to school and work, they would give one to me?

Can I live in Alabama and see a Georgia medicaid provider

Can I live in Alabama and see a Georgia medicaid provider?
I have an odd situation... my husband lost his insurance and I am pregnant. I am going to apply for medicaid and want to continue to see the doctor I have been seeing for my entire pregnancy, im six months. I live in Alabama but am seeing a doctor in Georgia. I live right on the border. Does anyone know if this is possible or will I be required to switch to an Alabama doctor?

usually. i live in kentucky and am seeing an ohio dr. It usually doesnt matter, its all government.
2 :
You will have to switch doctors other states wont take another states medicaid unless your out of town on vacation and its a life or death situation..you will have to apply for medicaid in Alabama and switch to another doctor. Good luck with your baby. That has been my experience anyway
3 :
Call and ask the office personnel (at your doctor's office) if your doctor is in network with Alabama Medicaid. They should know this or be able to find out. I work in South Carolina for home health at a hospital and we are out of network with some other states' Medicaids, but I don't think we're out of network with all of them. It normally doesn't come up as an issue so I'm not too sure, but the doctor's office should know which insurances are in and which are out--especially if they are near the border anyway. Your social worker may also be able to answer this question and/or provide you with a list of in-network providers.
4 :
You are only covered in the state that provides ins., unless it's E.R. visit. I had medical assistance and I asked the same question but for another reason.

i guess it depends on which georgia you are in. the russians have not invaded the state of georgia in the usa. if they have invaded georgia, it is near russia, located just east of the black sea

I was arrested for shoplifting in Texas at 17 but I live in Georgia. Will the charge go on my permanent record

I was arrested for shoplifting in Texas at 17 but I live in Georgia. Will the charge go on my permanent record?
Some one please help. In Texas at 17 you are considered an adult. But in Georgia you are still a minor. When college applications ask if you have ever been convicted of a crime other than a minor traffic violation. do i say yes or no? I was issued a summons and paid for it. does that mean i was convicted?

I'm not sure. Call the courts and ask them.
2 :
Yes it will
3 :
Any time someone does a criminal check on you it will come up.
4 :
Because you were an adult in the jurisdiction of the crime, it will be entered on your adult record. Adult records are permanent.
5 :
If you were considered an adult in Texas then yes, I believe it would stay on permanent record. If you were do something, oh I don't know - wrong - the Georgia authorities would most likely run a criminal record check out of Texas or any other states where you have lived. (they will know because if when you get a GA license they will have record of your previous states). Anyway - it would probably show up there. But I could be full of it, too cuz I'm not in any way shape or form an expert. If it's something you are really worried about just call your local court or non-emergency number at the local police dept to get pointed in the right direction.
6 :
That's a good question. Since its a misdemeanor and the crime was committed when you were only 17, I'm pretty sure that even if it shows up on a background check they will probably just ignore it. I would, however, check with your local legal aid society and see what they have to say about it. You definitely want to put it on your application. If you don't and its discovered, you could be expelled. Is it really worth trying to hide it?
7 :
If you were tried as an adult... they will be on your Permanent Record. In Georgia, you would of been tried as a juvenile and they would not have been there. In the "big" scheme of things, you have a minor offense that you should just learn by. I dont see it stopping you from getting a job, but could be looked at if you are ever arrested for anything else!
8 :
The charge will go on your record and stay there if the charging jurisdiction considers you an adult and does not afford you the shield of youthful offender status.
