I want to start an ant colony with carpenter ants for a science fair project, but I have no idea where I would be able to obtain one. I have every thing else I need but the queen. Ps. If you want to know where I got the stuff it was from AntsCanada. Check them out on youtube!!!

My brothers have always loved having ant farms, and they've never had a queen. I don't think it's necessary to have one. They will still be SUPER busy so as long as you have a little bit of the ant food in there and plenty of ants and sand, they'll be fine, at least long enough for your science fair project!
