If you live in Georgia, do you like living in Georgia and why

If you live in Georgia, do you like living in Georgia and why ?
I'd like to move to Georgia and I'd like some people's opinions about living there. I'm mostly interested in the cities of Athens, Augusta, Atlanta, Donaldsville and Savannah but any info about what it's like to live in Georgia would be good. For example, is your job pay good for what you do, what are the rent & housing prices like, things to do in Georgia/ social life, etc.

I love Atlanta! I really live in one of the 'burbs, but it's cool. Cost of living varies a lot. talk to a good real estate agent.

Atlanta is really fun :) Its a big city with a lower living cost, esp when you compare it with other big cities like LA or Boston. There are so many great restaurants and nightclubs that you can go to. Buckhead and Midtown are great. For housing/rent prices, it really depends on which part of the city you want to live in, or how big of an apartment you want. But you can get a really nice place for a very good price here.

Yes Because it better than those other crapy major Cities

i live in georgia, i moved from LA to ATL, i hate it, there is no beach, you cant walk, THERE IS NO MODE OF TRANSPORTATION except for your car, and that sucks, because thats why almost everyone in georgia is fat, because u cant do any excercise, u cant walk, and thats just ridiculous, because u can walk in like every other state in the US. and its really boring because all we do here is go to the movies, or just watch tv at home, and that is boring, i know it sounds ridiculous but the entertaining thing to do here in georgia is to talk all day long on ur cell phone. i think georgia sucks, im so moving back to LA, i already bought the airplane tickets. I HAVE VISITED SAVANAH AND IT SUCKS, IF YOU WANT TO MOVE HERE TO GEORGIA I WOULD RECOMMEND MOVING TO THE STATE RIGHT NEXT TO IT, SOUTH CAROLINA, IT IS BEAUTIFUL THERE (there is no comparison with LA though) BUT ITS REALLY NICE, WAY NICER THAN ATL, ATL is just for old people, i dont understand the people that says that ATL is fun, TAL aint fun, its boring and you spend a lot of money in GAS, which is a problem, and there is a lot of people that are fat, i dont mean fat u know like was born fat, i mean the i dont do anything all day long fat, fat people here in atl are fat because they dont do nothing all day, but its not their fault, its the goverment's fault that there is nothing to do here in atl,

I like ATL, I've lived here 20+ years now...sure beats where I'm from...but I digress, I didn't like it for about the first 18 months that I lived here...it takes about that long to get used to a place. And as for Stephen, hey, glad to see you go!

I hate it. Why? Salme people, they being to look a like, most people from here act like they are ascared of going downtown, or leaving the state as if the world is a wilderness, there is still a lot of racism up in snellville, and Tifton areas, ()Refer to the Marcus dixon trial for more Info, and I've done everything there is to do. The only people i really hang with are forgieners and people fr. other states. It's slow here,as opposed to Miami. But It's going to b e hard for people to understand unless they lived somewhere else like me, and can compare. I can't wait to move. Oh, and the gays here do not look good, but the clubs aren't that bad. Stephen is 100% right. So many adults have the good paying pt. time hjobs, and you gicve all of your hours to them.. (do they go to college or is it hard to find work with their major?do not know)

I love Atlanta. I actually live in DeKalb County in one of the richest black neighborhoods in Ga. My mother works great hours and my father also does. I work at the Stone Mountain Park and I love what I do because I get to meet different people everyday. Atlanta is known for its fine restuarunts and sizzling clubs. I dont know the exact cost of living being that I still live with my parents and pay no rent. I hope you move to Atlanta and have the best of time learning all the different Peachtree Streets because its about 300 of them. :) In reference to all the other comments about Atlanta I feel that people have to want to love a new place and not place judgement on it before they really try to experience it. Atlanta is not for old people, nor the home of fat people. I dont understand how you can compare walking around in one city to walking around in another city. Of course they will be different duh! Atlanta is one of the crunkest places to live due to the fact that most music stars start out here. You have to have a want to find the fun and sexy spots in the A. The comment about the gays is so biased it wasnt even funny. You cant see a few people and think that the rest in the state are ugly. ( then you wanna talk about being rasict.. I dont think so! ) If you move to Atlanta come with an open mind. Come ready to have fun and you will find the fun. There are plenty of activites to do with the family as well as an individual. As far as the transportation comment... UMMM have you ever heard of MARTA?! Marta is the best transit company in Georgia. True it only takes you in the Metro Atlanta area but its better than nothing. And in Downtown Atlanta you can walk whereever you want so dont say that we cant walk anywhere. Georgia is a beautiful state and if you are still not sure wether or not you want to live here after reading this I say you come to stay in "da A" for about 2 weeks and see how you like it.

I have lived in and near Atlanta for 30 years, and I sometimes think I am the last Atlanta native. I enjoy many things about the area, especially the variety of people and cultures represented here. There is a wide variety of activities as well. Things I do NOT like about Atlanta include traffic, weather, and regional elitism. The same kinds of things you run into in every major metropolitan area...

The citiies you mentioned are all very nice but I would stay away from downtown or midtown Atlanta ...Find a nice burb to live in....We have alot of places to go , they just opened an Aquarium, there is Stone Mountain with all sorts of things to do ..they have a fantastic lazer show.......If you like to exercise there is the Silver Comet Rail Trail which goes on for miles and into Alalbama.....It is very nice . We have Six Flags and White water Park. There is Callaway Gardens ..There are alot of nice things to do , depends on what you like to do..... Rent might be higher than usual but sometimes you can find a good deal............I personally love Georgia, although the summers can get mighty hot , it is still a good place to live.................The fall is beautiful with all the diffrent leaves and trees .....Dogwoods are simply gorgeous.........If you like the beach Savannah is good...and there are alot of older houses and things like that ..It is pretty unique..

I moved to Decatur, otuside Atlanta, 30 months ago. Atlanta sucks. There is no city life, just suburbs upon suburbs. Way too much traffic, too expensive, and a ightwing ogvenrment which beleives that blacks need to be kept inner city and that whites can control them.

Most of your questions you can just key in that city name and learn a lot on line. I have never lived there but been there a lot.
