company i work for cashed a check for a "friend" of mine. said it was her paycheck and was signed by her Father, also her employeer. check came back NSF, and the $200. was taken out of my pay. this happened 2 times. the first check came back within two weeks. #2 took a month. i tried to collect on #1, no success. Same thing with check #2. employee/Father said he didn't sign the checks and was not going to pay them.now this is a forgery issue, police said to send certified letter. but who do i send the cert. letter to? the man on the check or the person who forged the check?

The last person to sign a check is liable for it. (Missouri) Forgery, is a Felony. That will be the same in all 50 States. Forget what the local police tell you. They can't do anything anyway. Talk with your County Prosecutor, he will tell you what you need to do. and, may help you do it. Problem is...WHY did you take a 2 party check? A 2 party check is very very hard to prosecute. I wish luck on this. You might eat this one. .
