What's a good place to live in Georgia

What's a good place to live in Georgia?
I want to live in Georgia. I'm thinking about living on the outskirts of Atlanta. I know traffic can be horrible. But, I don't care traffic is in all major cities. I want some place with low crime, good places to live and good colleges. I know crime is everywhere.

Move to the Macon or Savannah Georgia.... Atlanta is a bustling city if you can't deal with the bustle then.. i dont know what to tell you. Live by good colleges? The good colleges are downtown dude.. right in the heart of the city.

Depending on how much you plan to spend on a home, Northwest Atlanta (Smyrna, Marietta, even Kennesaw) is a nice place to live. That area is lower crime than the rest of the city and I-75 gets much less traffic than I-85 or GA-400. In terms of colleges, Kennesaw State and Southern Poly are both very good schools in that area and you can get to Georgia Tech and Georgia State in under 20 minutes (it's a good 30-45 minutes to Emory).

Stay on the northside of the city, look at Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Kennesaw, Alpharetta. Yes, there is traffic in every big city, but Atlanta is 3rd behind LA & DC in the worst traffic in the US.

All the "good" colleges are either in the heart of Atlanta or further south. I would recommend the Gainesville area. It's a good distance from both Athens and Atlanta, the crime rate is relatively low, and there is a lot to do while still having a small town feel.

All of the northern suburbs of Atlanta offer what you are looking for. Marietta, Roswell, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, John's Creek, Alpharetta, Duluth, Lawrenceville to name just a few.

You definitely will want to stay on the northside of the city instead of the southside.
